Bio

CD Covington’s first German textbook had a map of Germany with the eastern section shaded darkly and labeled “Deutsche Demokratische Republik.” Shortly after she started using it, that map became as obsolete as the vocabulary inside (which included bell-bottoms and reel-to-reel machines).

She doesn’t find much use for her German skills in her adopted home in central North Carolina, but she makes excuses to use them as often as she can, whether in Germany or watching Bundesliga matches.

CD Covington has been a technician in an HIV research lab, a cashier at a gas station/convenience store/ice cream shop, and a public health pharmacist. So far, writing is her favorite job, even if she still has to work as a pharmacist to pay the bills. She crochets, makes costumes, studies tai chi, and maintains her German proficiency by watching Bundesliga matches. She lives in central North Carolina with her husband and a houseful of cats.
